OBITUARY
LATE DR. MARCUS GLANVILLE.
The funeral of the late Dr. Marcus Glanville took place at the Karrakatta Cemetery, and was largely attended. The late Dr. Glanville. whose father was also a Doctor of Medicine, was born in London at South Kensington, and graduated at St. George's Hospital. He practised for a few years in the South of France, and for many years in Balham, London. He was medical officer of health and a councillor of the Wandsworth Borough Council, one of the largest districts of Greater London, and during the War did a deal of voluntary work in the London Military Hospitals, also on the troopship Berlin, which transported troops between England and India.
He left England in 1921, and during his comparatively short residence in this State took a very keen interest in local affairs. He was for some time president of the Swanbourne Progress Association, and under his jurisdiction the district enjoyed considerable improvement. He was held in high esteem by the members of the Railway Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, of which he was the honorary lecturer and instructor for some time. Dr. Glanville leaves a widow, who
is resident in London, and one daughter, who is completing her education in Paris.
The chief mourners were: Mr. H. C. Glanville. (brother), Mrs. H. C. Glanville (sister-in-law) and Miss Glanville (niece). The pall-bearers were: Dr. A. H. M. Mitchell, Messrs. F. E. Gibson (Mayor of Fremantle), H. S. Bickford, H. Armstrong (Fremantle Golf Club), G. C. Bridgwood (Commercial Travellers Club), W. Allnutt (Swanbourne Progress Association), A. W. Leonard, and N. Hancock.
The coffin was borne by members; of the Railway Ambulance Brigade, consisting of Messrs. T. Woodroffe, M. C. Renner, J. S. Barr, and C. Peddie. The Rev. J. A. Priestley: conducted the last rites and the funeral arrangements were by Messrs. Arthur E. Davies and Company.
