WILL
This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Granville of the Borough of Saltash in the Parish of St Stephen in the County of Cornwall, gentleman, made this tenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty three. First I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Granville all my household goods and furniture plate linen and utensils. To hold the same to her, her executors administrators and assigned for ever and their own absolute use and benefit I give behest and bequeath unto Samuel Hutchings of Devonport in the County of Devon Librarian of the Mechanics Institute there and Theodore Linde of the same place Silversmith all such freehold and leasehold property in the Borough of Saltash aforesaid as I may be possessed of. To hold the same to them and the survivor of them his heirs executors and administrators. Upon trust to permit my wife the said Elizabeth Granville to have or receive the rents and profits of the said property and to keep the same in good repair and insure against fire in the sum of four hundred pounds at least during my wife's life. And from after the death of my said wife I will and direct that the said Samuel Hutchings and Theodore Linde the survivor of them his heirs executors and administrators do(/) and shall sell and absolutely dispose of the same property for the best price that can be obtained for the same. And do. and shall receive the purchase money thereof and after payment thereout of the costs and expenses of such sale do. and shall divide the same unto and equally between my three youngest children namely Louisa Watty, Josephine Granville and Adolphus Granville for their own separate use and benefit. And as for and concerning all such other freehold and leasehold property and personal and testamentary estate and effects whatsoever and whensoever not herinbefore mentioned which I shall be possessed of I give behest and bequeath the same and every part thereofas soon as conveniently can be after my arrears and to receive the purchase monies thereof and after payment thereout of all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses Upon trust to divide the same unto and equally amongst and between my four children William Granville and the said Lousa Watty, Josephine Granville and Adolphus Granville share and share alike and if my said son William should die whether in my lifetime or afterwards then I will and direct that his share shall be paid unto his wife Jemima Granville and if either of my other children should be leaving issue lawfully begotten the share of such one so ------? shall be paid unto such issue. And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint them the said Samuel Hutchings and Theodore Linde executors or the survivor of them his heirs executors or administrators to make and execute conveyance, assignment or assurance of all or any part of my said freehold leasehold or other property and to sign and give any receipt or receipts for the purchase or other monies thereof which receipt or receipts shall be good and sufficient discharge and discharges to any purchaser or other person paying money -----? the trusts of this my will and I do hereby declare that neither of my said executors shall be liable arts deeds receipts of the other of them but each for himself and his own arts receipts and willful defaults only. And that my said executors may and shall appropriate any portion of the share of my said son Adolphus Granville for and towards his support in case I should die before he attains the age of twenty one years In witness thereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper my hand and seal in manner following (that is to say) my hand to the first sheet and my hand and seal to this second and last sheet the day and year first before written Robt. Proved at London 15th January 1868 by the oaths of Samuel Hutchings and Theodore Linde the executors to whom administration was granted.
