George Glanvill

In the Name of God Amen
I George Glanvill the elder of the parish of Horton in the
County of Buckingham victualer being infirm in body but of
sound and perfect mind memory and understanding praised
be God *** and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life
and knowing that it is appointed for all men sure to dye I do
hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament in
manner and fform following ffirst and principally I commit
my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the
meritts of Jesus Christ to receive everlasting life and my body
I commit to the earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of
my Executor herein after named and as to such wordly estate
as it hath pleased God to lend me here on earth I give and
dispose hereof as followeth Imprimis I give devise and
bequeath to my son George Glanvill the sum of one shilling
which said sum is in full of all right title & property charges or
demand that my said son George shall pretend to have to any
part of my estate whatsoever and further my mind and will is
that immediately after my decease that all my goods chattells
and personal estate of what kind or place (?) soever shall be
taken by way of inventory and appraised by the order of my
executor herein after named and I give and dispose of the aforesaid
good and chattells as followeth that is to day my mind and
will is that whatsoever my personal amounts to shall be
divided into three equal parts hereafter mentioned I give devise
and bequeath after my just debts and ffunderal expenses are
paid and discharged one third part as shall be hier left out of
my goods and chattels unto my son in law Edward Allmond
and ffeby his wife one other third part of the same I give to
my son Thomas Woodman and Elizabeth his wife the other
third part being the remainder of the three parts I give devise
and bequeath to my son in law William Tomlinson whom I
nominate constitue and appoint my full and sole executor of this
my last will and testament revoking and making void all former
will or wills by me at any time heretofore made and so declare this
only to stand and be my last will and testament In Witnefs
whereof I the said George Glanvill have to this my last will and
testament sett my hand and seal this seventeenth day of March
in the thirteenth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord
George the second over Great Britain ffarance and Ireland
King defender of the ffaith and so forth in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and thirty nine - the mark of

said George Glanvill the testator to be his last will and
testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at
his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed

This Will was proved at London the second day of
April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
fforty before the worshipfull John Anders Doctor of Laws
Surrogate of the right worshipful John Bettesworth Doctor of
Laws Master Keeper or Commifsary of the prerogative Court
of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of William
Comlingon the sole executor in the said willl named to whom
administration was granted
all and and singluar the goods
chattels and credits of the said deceased being first sworn
duly to administer
