Edward Glanvill

This is the last will
and testament of me Edward Glanvill of Clifton in
the County of Oxon carpenter being of sound and
disposing mind and memory and understanding
ffirst I commend my soul to God who gave it and
my body I commit to the earth to be decently
buried by my executor and executrix hereinafter
named and as to all my wordly estate wherewith
it hath pleased God to blefs me with I give and
dispose of the same as follows that is to say I
give and bequeath unto my son John and
daughter Martha the sum of fifty pounds each to be paid
unto my said son and daughter within twelve
months next after my decese also I give unto
my grand son and to my grand daughter son and
daughter of my late daughter Mary wife of
James Prewnd (?) the sum of ten pounds each to be
paid to them as soon as they shall severally and
respectively attain their several and respective
ages of twenty one years all which said legacies
I do will and order shall be paid out of my
pesonal estate by my executor and executrix
herein after appointed Item I give and bequeath
unto my son William Glandvill all and singular
my working tools of what kind or nature
soever also I give and devise unto my son
William Glandvill and daughter Elizabeth all that
my ffreehold meadow ground whereof I am seized
in ffee lying and being in Burket Lot Mead in the
County of Oxon aforesaid to have and to hold the
same with their and every of their appurtenances
thereunto belonging unto my said son William
Glandvill and daughter Elizabeth their heirs and
afigns for ever equally to be divided between them
share and share alike to hold as tenants in
common and not as joint tenants also I give devise
and bequeath unto my son William Glandvill
and to my daughter Elizabeth all that my
ffreehold Mefsuage or tenement and premises
thereunto belonging wherein I now live situate
and being in Clifton aforesaid to hold the same
unto my said son William Glandvill and to my
daughter Elizabeth and the survivor of them
his or her afsigns during the term of his or
her natural life as joint tenants and not as
tenants in common without impeachment of
waste and from and immediately after the
decease of the survivor or my said son
William and daughter Elizaebth then I give
devise and bequeath my aforesaid ffreehold
mefsuage or tenement and premises unto my son
John Glandvil if he shall be then living to hold
the same unto my said son John Glandvill and his afsigns
during the term of his natural life and at his
decease then I give devise and bequeath my
said ffreehold mefsuage or tenement and
premises unto my daughter Martha if she
shall be then living to hold to her and her
afsigns during the term of her natural life
and lastly at the decease of the survivor of
my said four children William Glandvill John
Glandvill Elizabeth Glandvill and Martha
Glandvill then I do hereby give and devise
my aforesaid ffreehold mefsuage or tenement
and premises thereunto belonging unto the
heirs and afsigns of such survivor to hold the
same with their and every of their appurts
unto the heirs and afsigns of such survivor for
ever and as to all the rest residue and remainder
of my estate whatsoever and wheresoever
and of what nature kind or quality soever the
same may be and not herein before given and
disposed of after payment of my debts legacies
ffuneral expenses and the expense of proving
this my will I do hereby give and bequeath the
same being all personal unto my said son William Glanvill
and daughter Elizabeth to be equally divided between
them share and share alike and I do ordain constitute
and appoint my said son William Glanvill and daughter
Elizabeth executor and executrix of this my last will
and testament In witnefs whereof I have to this my last
will and testament set and subscribed my
hand and seal this twenty eight day of ffebruary one

This will was proved at London on
the twenty seventh day of August in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and three before the
Right Honorable Sir William *** Knight Doctor of
Laws Master Keeper or Commifsary of the prerogative
Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of
William Glanvill the son of the deceased and Elizabeth
Glanvill spinster the daughter of the said deceased the
executors named in the said will to whom admon of all
and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said
deceased was granted they having been first sworn by
comon duly to administer
