Sweared Personally Samuel Glanvill of the parish of Ottery Saint Mary in the County of Devon Gentleman and made oath that he is the sole executor named in the last Will and Testament of Thomas Glanvill late of Ottery Saint Mary aforesaid deceased bearing date the tenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and forty eight and now hereunto annexed And he further made oath on the aforesaid tenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and forty eight the said Testator duly executed this said will by signing his names at the foot or * * * thereof in manner the same now appears * * * in the person of this appearer and of Thomas Davy and Mary Ann Davy Spinster that subscribed witnesses thereto all of whom were then present at the same time and whereupon the said Thomas Davy and Mary Ann Davy at the same time attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said Testator and the appearer and of each other And the appearer lastly made oath that the said Thomas Davy has since died to wit on or about the thirtieth day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifty two and that the said Mary Ann Davy is now resident in the Island of Jamaica and is not likely to return to this Country for some considerable time if at all - Saml Glanville - On the thirteenth day of January 1854 the said Samuel Glanvill was duly sworn to the * * * hereof by virtue of the annexed Commission before me Sidney W Cornish DD Commissioner.

God's will be done, I Thomas Glanville of Ottery Saint Mary in the County of Devon do make this my last Will and Testament revoking all other wills by me heretofore made in manner and form following that is to say I give devise and bequeath unto my son Samuel Glanvill (who has been for many years living in the Island of Jamaica is at present with me shortly intending to return to Jamaica) all my landed real and personal estate chattles accoutrements and effects whatsover it may be found that I may die possessed of and to his heirs and assigns but subject nevertheless to the payment of the following annuity and legacy To wit to pay to my daughter Sarah Whicker of Ottery Saint Mary an annuity or annual sum of sixty pounds for and during her natural life To my sister Frances Glanvill who is now living with me an annuity or annual sum of forty pounds for and during her natural life To my brother Captn George Glanvill RN a legacy of one hundred pounds a token of my affection for him Now I further declare my will to be that in the event of my said son Samuel Glanvill dieing before me by which he would not inherit the property which I have bequeathed to him Then and in such case I give devise and bequeath the same unto his eight children named John Glanvill William Drewry Glanvill Thomas Glanvill Caroline Glanvill Mary Glanvill Eleanor Glanvill and Tryphena Glanvill to be divided as follows to the four sons all my landed and real estate accountrements and premises (but subject to pay the annuity of sixty pounds) share and share alike but should either of them die before the same shall become divisible amongst them or die before attaining the age of twenty one years then in in such I give the share or shares of those so dieing unto the survivors or survivor his or their heirs and assigns with respect to my personal property and chattel effects after providing the above mentioned annuity of forty pounds and the legacy of one hundred pounds I directed to be divided amongst the four daughters share and share alike but should either of them die before the same shall become divisible amongst them on attaining the age of twenty one years or be married then and in such case I give the share or shares of either so living unto the survivors or survivor then And I do hereby appoint my said son Samuel Glanvill should he survive me Executor to this my Will but in the event of his dieing before me then I appoint his sons John Glanville and William Drewry Glanvill Executors to this my Will.
