Discharged 10 Oct 1917 being no longer physically fit for war service. He served in France 21 Apr 1915 to 30 may 1915 and 28 Oct 1915 to 14 Mar 1917, otherwise at home. Gunshot/shrapnel wound to right wrist 24 May 1915 and another to his head 22 Jan 1917 ( fractured skull jaw and right leg) hospitalised 5mths loss of right eye and partial loss of sight in left eye from trench mortar wound.
