Wilson Glanville began military service on 7 September 1914 enlisting in the 5th Northumberland Fusiliers. Height 5ft 5 1/4", 37in chest, fair hair, blue eyes, fair complexion church of england. Discharged 10 Oct 1917 being no longer physically fit for war service. He served in France 21 Apr 1915 to 30 may 1915 and 28 Oct 1915 to 14 Mar 1917, otherwise at home.
