BARABOO - Shirley Glanville Nancarrow, age 83, was called home on Friday, May 18, 2012.
Shirley was born on March 14, 1929, in Hubbell, Mich. to Preston and Ina (Sved) Glanville. Shirley grew up in Hubbell and attended all 12 years of school at Lake Linden-Hubbell schools, graduating in 1947. Shirley was united in marriage to David Nancarrow on June 17, 1950, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Houghton.
Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, Christine (Glenn) Steigerwalt of Urbandale, Iowa, Cindy (Terry) Steuber of Prairie du Sac and Lori (Ron) DeMars of Reedsburg. Their lives have also been blessed with three grandchildren, Kristin (Ryan) DeGard of Los Angeles, Calif., David (Jessie) DeMars of Reedsburg and Brianne DeMars of Prairie du Sac; and two wonderful great-grandchildren, Brady and Allison DeGard. She is also survived by her sister, Gail (Roy) Rheaume from Owosso, Mich; her very close nephews, Scott and Kirk (Gussy) Rheaume; and the “fourth daughter”, Shirley’s very close niece, Susan (Larry) Fries of Owosso, Mich. In addition, other close family, Marge (Nancarrow) Conrad, Robert (Betty) Nancarrow and their children, Micah, Mala, Robbie and Dickie. She is also survived by her church family and friends.
After moving to the Baraboo area from Pennsylvania in 1970, Shirley worked for Edwards Agri-Supply in Baraboo until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Baraboo where she served as a member of the church vestry, as well as serving many years on the alter guild and as the church treasurer. Shirley’s faith, her church and her church family were a very important part of her life. She lived her life based on her strong beliefs and faith in her Heavenly Father. Shirley’s life ended with her knowing and believing that she would pass to an eternal life as promised in her readings and studies of God’s word.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Meadow View Memory Care unit in Baraboo for their professional and friendly care during Shirley's stay there. We would also like to show our appreciation to the wonderful nursing staff on the second floor at St. Clare Hospital and St. Clare Hospice in Baraboo. Your kindness, understanding and compassion during her care at your facility made each moment a little brighter and will be forever appreciated.

Though you will be missed, the memories you have helped build and the love you have given to all of us left behind will sustain us until we meet you again in our own hereafter."
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 12 noon at the TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH in Baraboo with Father Scott Seefeldt officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at REDLIN FUNERAL HOME in Baraboo and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at church.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo or Trinity Episcopal Church Flower Fund in Shirley's name.
