It named him as railway engineer in Southern India and during the War in Mesopotamia. Deputy engineer-in-chief South Indian Railway, 4 and half years with Army in Mesopotamia, as Major R.E. twice mentioned in despatches, awarded M.B.E. Widow Joan named, daughter of Mr H Scoble Nicholson, and his daughter Lorna Kathleen was named.
