She died circa May 1848 at Plymouth, DEV, ENG; registered Plymouth, recorded age 15. Reported in North Devon Journal 18 May 1848:
A Melancholy Accident happened on Tuesday to a young girl named Harriet Glanville, about 16 years of age, in service in Ebrington-street. It appears that she was, in the afternoon of the above day, in the act of reaching a kettle from the fire, when her clothes ignited, and soon she was one complete blaze. Her screams alarmed those in the househ, and they ran to the room but so horror-struck were they at the sight, that they appear to have been totally paralysed, and to have rendered no assistance in extinguishing the falmes. The poor girl then ran in her agony into the street, and there two of the neighbours, enveloping her in a carpet, smothered the fire. The girl was, however, dreadfully burnt in every part of her body; her clothes were reduced to a cinder, and one of her arms shrivelled up by the flames. She was removed to a cot in her parents' residence in Higher-street, where she now lies in a very precarious state.
She was buried on 24 May 1848 at Charles the Martyr Parish Church, Plymouth, DEV, ENG, recorded age 15.
