     William Leonard Glanville M.B.E. was born on 6 June 1882 at Southbridge, South Island, NZ.
     He married Elvina Katerina Soro in 1910 at NZ (when age calculated as 27 years) it is suspected that the marriage took place much earlier and this was a late registration, as the births of their children were registered in later years too.
     He died on 3 October 1966 at NZ (when age calculated as 84.)
     He was buried at Ruru Lawn Cemetery, Christchurch, CBY, NZ, witih Monumental Inscription:

     Between 1914 and 1918 he served in the New Zealand army, service number 6/235 from the 60 Cambrai Street, Nelson, South Island. The rolls of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force 1914 list him as Company Sergeant Major in the Canterbury Infantry Battalion.
