FINLAY, John - Report of the Case of Alex Dalrymple and Frederick H Garraway Esqrs, vs, The Hon Henry John Glanville, Speaker of the House of Assembly of Dominica, Concerning Privilege of Colonial Assemblies, Argued and Adjudged in the Court of Common Pleas of that Island, July 1829.
     Circa 1835 he was awarded £23 17s 8d as compensation for slaves in Dominica.
     Newspaper Courier, Hobart Tasmania Thurs 8 May 1845 reported:
The chief-justice of Dominica, Glanville, is a mulatto.
     Newspaper Ballina Chronicle (Co Cork, Ireland), Weds Oct 3 1849 reported:
H. John Glanville, Esq., late Chief Justice of Dominica, is removed to be Chief Justice of St. Kitt's.
     On 13 November 1849 he became Chief Justice of St Kitts, reported in Illustrated London News 17 Nov 1849:
