Aberdeen - The funeral service for Mary Wold, 56, of Aberdeen will be 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Noer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Mary died Dec. 6, 2004, at home surrounded by her family. Arrangements by Spitzer Funeral Home, 320 Sixth Ave. S.E., Aberdeen, S.D. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the funeral home with a prayer service at 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Mary Ellen Glanville was born May 12, 1948, in Bismarck, N.D., the daughter of Harold and Mae (Sauter) Glanville. She and her younger brother and sister grew up on their family farm in Wing, N.D. Mary graduated from Wing High School in 1966. She married Clark J. Wold on April 5, 1969, in Wing. She completed her bachelor of science in mathematics at Jamestown College in 1970. While living in Jamestown, she began her teaching career in Kensel, N.D. In 1973 Clark and Mary established their home in Bismarck, where she taught math at Century High School and St. Mary's High School. Clark and Mary moved to Aberdeen in 1990. She began teaching at Simmons Junior High in 1991 and transferred to Central High School in 2000. She taught there until she became ill in 2004. Mary was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, The National Council of Teachers of Math, and Aberdeen Education Association. She valued her many friendships and enjoyed working in the garden with her husband, cross-stitching, and spending time with her children. Grateful for having shared her life include her loving husband, Clark of Aberdeen; one son, Christopher (fiance Nicole Camacho) Wold of Marietta, Ga; one daughter, Larissa (Ryan) Laber of Eau Claire, Wis; her mother, Mae McFerran, of Bismarck; her sister, Susan Kahler, of Phoenix, Ariz; sisters-in-law, Monica Glanville of Bismarck, Janet (Don) Kamnikar of Fort Collins, Colo., and Meryl (Jack) Atterberry, of Jefferson City, Mo. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Glanville; stepfather, Pat McFerran; and brother, Michael Glanville. Her family would like to thank Kathy, Barb, Jean and all of the staff at North Plains Hospice, Dr. Conklin and Dr. Mendoza and their caring staff, many friends at the Aberdeen School District and Education Assistance Corporation, and all who offered love, support, and prayers throughout Mary's illness. Memorials may be sent to North Plains Hospice or your local hospice agency.
