SUDDEN DEATH: - On the evening of Wednesday last, Mr Samuel Glanville, of the Yealmpton Inn, Yealmpton, left Plymouth on his return home. He passed the Lary Bridge Gate, without there being apparently anything amiss, but the toll-collector was shortly afterwards surprised at seeing Mr Glanville's horse return without its rider. He at once feared some accident had happened, and stopping the horse led in back in the direction of Yealmpton, and a short distance from Pomphlet Mill, discovered the unfortunate man lying across the road. He was removed to Cockle's Morley Arms Inn, and medical aid procured, but in was in vain, life was extinct. On the inquest before A.B. bone, Esq., Coroner, the jury returned a verdict of "Died by the Visitation of God". Mr Glanville was well known in this city, where he resided many years, being the careful and attentive driver of the Defiance coach, from hence to Plymouth. He was 53 years of age, has left a widow and several children; and was greatly respected.
