Edgar Glanville was born between 1808 and 1809 at Ipswich, SFK, ENG.He was baptized on 11 June 1809 at St Helen, Ipswich, SFK, ENG, parents named William Glanville and Martha late Lane.
He married Mary Anne Brown on 27 April 1834 at St Mary Magdalen church, Oxford, OXF, ENG, Edgar of St Giles, Mary Ann of this parish, by licence. Witnesses William Syder, Elizabeth Brown.
He died on 17 February 1867 at 61 Observatory Street, Oxford, OXF, ENG; registered Headington, recorded age 58.
Obituary in Jackson's Oxford Journal for 23 February 1867 read: “Feb. 17th, at 61, Observatory-street, after a long and painful illness, borne with Christian fortitude, Mr. Edgar Glanville, aged 58, and for about 40 years a clerk in the office of F. J. Morrell, Esq., of this city.”
Monumental Inscription St Sepulchre Cemtery, Oxford "Sacred to the memory of Edgar Glanville who departed this life February 17 AD 1867 aged 58 years Also of Mary Ann his wife who departed this life December 9, 1869 aged 60 years.
His estate was probated on 25 April 1867 indexed as:
1867 GLANVILLE Edgar, late of Oxford, Attorney's Clerk, who died on 17 February 1867 at Oxford. Will proved at Oxford on 25 April by John Thorn Glanville of the Manor House, Berrick, County of Oxford, gentleman, and Robert Staines Glanville of All Souls College in the University of Oxford, butler of the said College, the brothers, the executors, under £450.
He was buried on 10 February 1867 at St Paul, Oxford, OXF, ENG, recorded age 58. Note date of burial in burial register predates date of death given in Probate record.

Edgar was present at the marriage of Charlotte Anna Lane and John Thorn Glanville on 16 March 1835 at Warborough, OXF, ENG; John of St Mary in the Virgin, Oxford, Charlotte of this parish, by licence. On the same day (Monday last) was married at Warborough, in this county, Mr. J. T. Glanville, of this city to Charlotte Anna, eldest daughter of Mr. Samuel Lane, of Ipswich, Suffolk.
On 23 April 1870 a notice in Jackson's Oxford Journal announced that Edgar Glanville's executors had put up for sale eight acres of freehold garden ground that he had owned opposite Magdalen Cricket Ground in Cowley March with considerable frontage to the Cowley Road: the sale was held at the Cape of Good Hope pub on 19 May 1870. The notice was dated.
