Terrence H. Glanville, Sr., 88, passed peacefully on October 23, 2024. Terrence was born in Holyoke to Frederick and Ella Glanville on September 13, 1936. He was educated in Holyoke schools and was a graduate of Holyoke Technical High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school. Serving in the military was one of the joys of his life. He often shared stories of the sights he saw, the lessons he learned and the wonderful people he met away from home. He served during a time of peace and had the privilege of spending his service as an aerial photographer spending time in Germany and North Africa. Terry was a lifelong resident of Holyoke. He loved Holyoke and took great pride in it. He would share countless stories of his city to his children and grandchildren. Terry returned to Holyoke after the Air Force and worked for the Phillip Hano Company in Holyoke before working for several decades for the United States Post Office in both Holyoke and South Hadley. While at the Phillip Hano Company, Terry met the love of his life, Arlene who predeceased him in 2021. They married and would spend more than five decades together. They had five sons, Terry, Jr. of Connecticut, Chris (pre-deceased in 1995), Dan of Holyoke, Mike of Arizona, Tim of California and a daughter, his pride and joy, Annie of Virginia. He had nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Terry loved golf, the New York Giants, and the Boston Celtics. Like his father, he had fine culinary skills, and would use them for countless Sunday dinners, holidays, and annual Saint Patrick's Day parties. Terry was a devoted runner that began running in the Bill Rogers era and continued many decades completing countless road races and multiple marathons. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday October 26 at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will be private and the convenience of the family. A calling hour will be held from 9:00am to 10:00am in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
