     He was baptized on 17 April 1734 at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, MDX, ENG, William Evelyn of William Glanville (formerly Evelyn) Esq and Bridget his wife. Born 21 Mar. William Glanville was born on 21 March 1734 at London, MDX, ENG.
     He married Susanna Barrett on 2 August 1760 at Shoreham, KEN, ENG, (when age calculated as 26 years, 3 months and 16 days.)
     He died on 3 November 1813 at Bath, SOM, ENG, (when age calculated as 79.)
     He was buried on 13 November 1813 at St Peter, Igtham, KEN, ENG, William Evelyn Squire, abode : of St Clere Ightham & of Queens Parade in the Parish of Walcot in the City of Bath. Nov the 13 1813, recorded age 79.

Other information

     In the 1768 general election, Evelyn was elected in a contest as Member of Parliament for Hythe and was again returned for Hythe contests in 1774, 1780 and in 1784. By this time, he had established a personal interest and was returned unopposed in 1790 and 1796. In 1794, he was a lieutenant in the Kent yeoman cavalry.
     On 30 November 1772 Northampton Mercury reported:
4th Regiment of Foot, Lieutenant William Glanville Evelyn to be Captain; by purchase.
