Todd Allen Glanville

Male, ID #186, b. 6 March 1966, d. 25 July 2024
FatherRichard Glanville (b 1946 - b 2024)

Birth, Marriage and Death information

Todd Allen Glanville was born on 6 March 1966 at Marquette, MI, USA.
He married Mary Elizabeth Block on 7 August 1993 at the USA (when age calculated as 27 years, 5 months and 1 day.)
He died on 25 July 2024 at Norway, MI, USA, (when age calculated as 58); with obituary:
NORWAY- Todd Allen Glanville, age 58 of Norway, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 25, 2024 after a lengthy and complicated battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on March 6, 1966 in Marquette, the son of Elizabeth (Ziemnick) and the late Richard Glanville. Todd grew up on Hamilton Ave in Kingsford, where he and his longtime friend Chris were always causing a ruckus.
Todd proudly served in the United States Marine Corps following graduation from Kingsford High School in 1984. He was stationed in Japan, South Korea and California during his time in the USMC. After honorable discharge, he attended Northern Michigan University where he would meet his future wife, Mary.
Todd worked as a boiler operator at Billerud (Verso) for over 30 years. Todd and Mary raised their daughters, Nicole and Kimberly, at their home in Norway.
Todd was larger than life. His smile and laughter would fill the room and his bear hugs were legendary. He was a loving husband, father, loved being a grandpa and a great friend. While he could come off as intimidating, he was one of the kindest people you would ever know. He was a committed Minnesota Vikings fan and was notorious for giving Green Bay Packer fans a hard time.
He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. His favorite place in the world was playing cribbage at camp. Todd was well known for his spaghetti sauce and loved sharing it with his friends and family.
He was a dedicated parishioner at St. Mary's Church for 28 years, but could often be found ushering at 6:00 Mass at St. Barbara's. He grew deeper in his faith during his illness and leaned on the Lord until he was called home to the Lord's arms. We will cherish his memory and miss him always.
Todd is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary; daughters Nicole (Travis) Moon and Kimberly Glanville; grandson Murphy Moon; mother Betty Glanville; sister Julie (David) Santi; parents-in-law Jim & Nancy Block; brothers-in-law James (Lisa Mulder) Block, John (Dulce) Block, & David (Heather Burson) Block; sister-in-law Anne (Brad) Perala; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Chris (Michelle) Rexses.
He is preceded in death by father Richard “Dick” Glanville.
Todd’s family would like to thank Fr. Marty Flynn and Fr. Mark McQuesten for their spiritual care and friendship, OSF Hospice, Optalis Health & Rehabilitation, Dr. Morel and his team as well as the staff at MMC-Dickinson for their exceptional and compassionate care of Todd.
Family would suggest memorial donations be made to the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet, in Todd’s name.
Family will greet friends on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway, with Parish Prayers at 6:30 p.m.
Family will also greet friends on Tuesday, August 20 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Norway, with Fr. Marty Flynn, officiating and Fr. Mark McQuesten concelebrating.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
