A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. Wm. Wedgerfield, Little Current, on Wednesday evening, June 11th, when his eldest daughter, Jean McIvor was united in marriage to Mr. Walter Glanville, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Glanville of Gore Bay.
The bride who was given in marriage by her father looked lovely in a frock of beige chiffon with matching hat and bouquet of sweetheart roses and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Eileen Wedgerfield who wore a gown of blue voile with hat and shoes to match. The groom was supported by Mr. Kenneth Petch of Little Current.
The ceremony took place beneath an arch of evergreens in the presence of a number of guests, the Rev. Jos. Coulter officiating.
After the signing of the register about thirty guests sat down to a sumptuous supper in the dining room which was daintily decorated in pink and white.
The groom's gift to the bride was a crystal necklace, to the bridesmaid a beautiful bracelet and to the groomsman a pair of gold cuff links.
The bride and groom were the recipients of many beautiful and costly gifts which shows the high esteem in which the young couple are held.

Nuptial
A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Glanville, Ice Lake, Wednesday, Jan. 21st, at 3 o'clock when their only daughter Mary E. B. was united in marriage to Mr. George William Burch also of Ice Lake.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. A. McDonald, of Gore Bay.
The bride was given away by her eldest brother, Mr. Harold Glanville and looked very pretty in a dress of white satin with drapings of white union. The over dress was caught up at the left side with white satin roses. She wore the regulation veil in Japanese style, caught up at the side with orange blossoms. She carried a boquet of white roses and lilacs. Her only jewellery was the groom's gift, an engraved band bracelet.
She was attended by Miss Lizzie Wilson who wore a very becoming dress of white voil with trimmings of pale blue satin. She wore a Juliet cap with wreath of pale blue satin roses, and carried white roses, she also wore the groom's gift, a gold broach.
Mr. Alexander Burch acted as groomsman.
The young couple took their place under an arch of evergreens decorated with wreaths of white roses and white chains, while Miss Jean Wilson played the wedding march.
The groom's gift to the groomsman was a gold stick pin and to the organist a gold broach.
After the ceremony a large number of friends sat down to a sumptuous repast, prepared by the bride's mother.
After the supper the young couple drove to their future home at Ice Lake corner where they entertained a number of their young friends to a dance. The bride danced in a dress of salmon satin palette with overdress of cream ninion and trimmings of shadow lace.
We all join in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Burch many long and happy years of wedding life.

She was thrilled to have shared in family vacations, especially several trips to Mexico. Her other interests included sewing, knitting, reading, cooking and oil painting. As a member of Emmanuel United Church, Sheila enjoyed her many visits with church members. She was very happy to have recently attended Christmas Eve services at Emmanuel. Sheila was very proud of her years of employment at the North Bay Civic Hospital, and the Plummer Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. She was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Nancy, her former husband Doug, her sister Audrey, granddaughters Sarah and Heidi, and her friend Lee. Sheila will be lovingly remembered by her children Peggy (David), Lynn (Joel), Rob (Anne), her sister Marj, and grandchildren Chris (Kaelin), Julie (Randi), Steven, Zachary, Hannah, Jason,(Viet), Japhy, Elizabeth, Michael and Katie, several nephews and nieces, and the family dog, Cowper. Sheila was born and raised in Little Current on the Manitoulin Island, and was the daughter of the late Walt and Jean Glanville. She was a proud Haweater, and appreciated the good times spent with family on the Manitoulin.
