Thomas Burt Glanville was born in 1822 at Totnes, DEV, ENG.He was baptized on 10 March 1822 at Stoke Damerel, DEV, ENG, Thomas Burt of Thomas and Maria Glanville, abode Dock.
He married Wilmot Watson on 16 January 1850 at St Matthias Church, Madras, India, (when age calculated as 28 years) both of full age, bachelor and spinster, fathers named Thomas Glanville and Thomas Watson.
He died on 2 May 1878 at Horsell, SRY, ENG; registered Chertsey, recorded age 56.
A Death Notice was filed in South Afria 11 April 1880, naming him an Emigration Commission, recording his English death and naming his children. It listed South African property as Landed Stores in St George Street in Cape town, S Africa and an interest in coal mine on the Induse River.
His estate was probated on 17 May 1878 indexed as:
1878 GLANVILLE Thomas Burt late of 121 Brecknock Road, Middlesex, gentleman who died on 2 May 1878 at Horsell, Surrey. Will proved at London on 17 May by Wilmot Glanville of 11 Carlton Road, Tufnell Park, Holloway, Middlesex, widow, the relict, the sole executrix, under £600.
He was buried on 7 May 1878 at St Mary's church, Horsell, SRY, ENG, recorded age 56.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, William Attwell Richards, Thomas Burt Glanville. and Benjamin D'Urban Godlonton, trading under the style or firm of Richard Glanville and Co., at Graham's Town and Cape Town, both in Cape Colony, at the Cape of Good Hope, and also at Kimberley, Griqualand West, in the Diamond District, at Cape Colony aforesaid, and also at No. 4, Brown's-buildings, St. Mary Axe, and No. 26, Bishopsgate-street, both in the city of London, has been this day dissolved by mutual consent, so far as regards the undersigned, Benjamin D'Urban Godlonton. The businesses will in future be carried on by the undersigned, William Attwell-Richards and Thomas Burt Glanville, as heretofore, under the said style or firm of Richards, Glanville, and Co.—Dated this 4th day of February, 1876.
