     William Kelso Martin was born circa 1816 at Antigua.
     He married Emily Jane Glanville, daughter of Honourable John Glanville and Margaret Browne, on 6 October 1842 at St Andrews Church, Scarborough, Tobago, witnesses to the marriage were John Glanville and John Thornton. "William and his friend Thornton had gone down to see the Packet come in and the passengers landing. Amongst the latter was Emily Glanville who was arriving in Tobago from England and school. The passengers had to walk along a narrow plank from the steamer to the shore, she tripped on the plank and would have fallen into the water had not William Martin caught her and helped her to safety. He declared that he fell in love with her at that moment, certainly it was a very short time afterwards in the same year that they married. She was only 17 years of age."
     He married female (Surname Unknown) on 5 November 1866.
     He died in June 1880 at Bath registered, SOM, ENG; registered q3, recorded age 65.
