John Turner Glanville Jnr was born on 18 March 1934 at Passaic, NJ, USA.He married Marie Lockhart Richards after 1954 at the USA probably.
He died on 14 June 1966 at Vietnam (when age calculated as 32); Lieutenant Commander Glanville was a member of Heavy Photographic Squadron 61 aboard the aircraft carrier USS HANCOCK (CVA-19). On June 13, 1966, he was the pilot of a Douglas Skywarrior Attack Aircraft (RA-3B) on a night low level reconnaissance mission over Ha Tinh Province, North Vietnam when the aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
John Turner Glanville, Jr. was born on March 18, 1934. John graduated from Morristown High School in 1951. In high school, he was the captain of the football team. He was also on the track team. He loved the outdoors. He attended Maryville College in Tennessee for two years as a biology major. A friend from school, Bill Davis, remembers hitchhiking back and forth to and from college with John. While in college he met his future wife. They were married and had three children, Jill, Jack and Jody.
