A very pretty wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Glanville, Ice Lake, Wednesday, Jan. 21st, at 3 o'clock when their only daughter Mary E. B. was united in marriage to Mr. George William Burch also of Ice Lake.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. A. McDonald, of Gore Bay.
The bride was given away by her eldest brother, Mr. Harold Glanville and looked very pretty in a dress of white satin with drapings of white union. The over dress was caught up at the left side with white satin roses. She wore the regulation veil in Japanese style, caught up at the side with orange blossoms. She carried a boquet of white roses and lilacs. Her only jewellery was the groom's gift, an engraved band bracelet.
She was attended by Miss Lizzie Wilson who wore a very becoming dress of white voil with trimmings of pale blue satin. She wore a Juliet cap with wreath of pale blue satin roses, and carried white roses, she also wore the groom's gift, a gold broach.
Mr. Alexander Burch acted as groomsman.
The young couple took their place under an arch of evergreens decorated with wreaths of white roses and white chains, while Miss Jean Wilson played the wedding march.
The groom's gift to the groomsman was a gold stick pin and to the organist a gold broach.
After the ceremony a large number of friends sat down to a sumptuous repast, prepared by the bride's mother.
After the supper the young couple drove to their future home at Ice Lake corner where they entertained a number of their young friends to a dance. The bride danced in a dress of salmon satin palette with overdress of cream ninion and trimmings of shadow lace.
